Let me start by saying: I love sandwiches. To such a great degree that I find it hard to believe there are people who do not like sandwiches.
While browsing Tumblr, which is heavy on “food porn,” I ran across a recipe for a guacamole grilled cheese sandwich.
I had most of the ingredients in the kitchen and so the decision to make the sandwich was an easy one. The result, even without lime juice (I opted for lemon juice) and jalapeño, was delicious.
I cut up fresh cucumber and asparagus to munch on the side. Yummy, healthy food that is quick and easy to make? Yes, please!

As a woman who rarely wears make up – foundation (never) and concealer (occasionally) – keeping my skin in good condition is important. Lately I’ve had a natural glow.
These are the five natural products that have done wonders for my skin:
1) Water! It’s very important to regularly wash your face. I do so with a mild soap, a Dove beauty bar, to be exact. Also, it’s common sense, but drink at least eight full glasses of water a day.
2) Blueberries! This little fruit is packed with disease-fighting antioxidants. I eat a couple handfuls a day. The colder and fresher they are, the better.
3) Aloe Vera! I extract the pure gel from the plant (I have several growing in my yard) and use it as a face mask. Since doing this, my skin is noticeably softer. Aloe vera can also be used for cuts, burns, rashes, and consumed for internal health benefits (it’s a little too bitter for my taste).
4) Lemon juice! Lemon juice is great for spot treatment of blemishes. It’s a natural toner. Whenever I’m dealing with a stubborn blemish, I use a cotton swab to apply the juice to the area, at least twice a day. In no time, the blemish fades.
5) Olive oil! My trick is rubbing a dab of olive oil on my face every night before bed. I know it sounds scary, but it works! It can also be applied to areas that are prone to dryness, such as the knees and elbows.
These natural products work well for my super-sensitive skin, but they may not be the best for everyone. Before applying anything to your face, test an area of your skin to make sure you’re not allergic.

Read more to see a list of movies I’ve recently watched. They’re placed in descending order, based on my level of enjoyment. Though let the record show that they’re all pretty great and worth recommendation.
Can you match these clues with the movies? Answers after the cut.
- These movies were written and directed by a filmmaking couple. (Hint: They each have one movie on the list.)
- This movie’s heroine doubles as a connoisseur of whiskey.
- This movie features my (newly) favorite Olsen.
- This movie is a little Harold & Maude and Rushmore, with a score by Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys).
- This movie is debatably a hoax, but made me laugh to tears.
- This movie portrays my wildest dreams.

Whoa, it’s been a while! In my last post I told you all about my new project, The Spec. I’ve been consumed with matters related to that operation. Admittedly, I’ve neglected What She Said, but no more!
So what has my life been about for the past few months?
1. Hoping and wishing and praying to find Steve Madden’s WESTII in size 6.5. No luck. Aren’t they beautiful though?
2. Received my first lens for my DSLR. The Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II. It should be perfect for my shooting needs (concert photography). So far, it’s only been a day, I love it. Sayonara, kit lens!
3. Cooking a lot, mostly recipes from Martha Stewart. Pictured above is a meal I made for lunch today. Linguine tossed in olive oil and seasonings with baked parmesan tomatoes. So yum. It’s great that I’m finally taking the time to learn how to cook. I’m 23 years old!
4. I can’t get enough of this band called Friends. So, so great! “Friend Crush” is the best.
5. My current fashion blogger muse: Trini!
6. Hooked (again) on Versace’s Bright Crystal perfume.
7. Currently reading Christopher Sandford’s Kurt Cobain.
